Sustainable rubber: such is the main issue of the Global Platform for Sustainable Natural Rubber (GPSNR), launched in 2018, of which SIPH is a founding member in the Producers, Processing and Negotiating categories.
In charge of improving the social-economic and environmental performance of the natural rubber value chain, GPSNR is the result of a reflection of all actors of the business: tire makers and other rubber users, manufacturers, automobile constructors, village farmers, and NGOs.
Following the GPSNR General Assembly held on October 25th, 2023 and the vacancy of the position of chairperson of the Executive Committee, Mr Marc Genot, Managing Director of SIPH was appointed President of the committee.
Moreover, SAPH, an Ivorian subsidiary of SIPH has initiated a workshop around the value chain’s sustainability in Côte d’Ivoire with local actors and APROMAC, which has acquired the first National GPSNR Group work.
SIPH participates in 5 of the 7 group works launched by GPSNR with high-level spokespeople such as Martin Hampson, SIPH Singapore, Jean-Phillippe Malter, Trade Director of SAPH rubber and Guillaume Kouadio, SIPH Sustainable Development Manager.
