Producers, Processors, and Traders of GPSNR against the postponement of the implementation of the EUDR
The Producers, Processors, and Traders of the GPSNR express concern about the EU Commission's decision to delay the implementation of the EUDR by 12 months. In a press release published today, they reiterate their commitment to abide by the EUDR standards as of the initial deadline. These members have already invested significant resources, such as upgrading systems, implementing tracing tools, and working with smallholder farmers to ensure compliance by the original deadline of December 30th 2024. A delay would waste these efforts and risk contract cancellations that would hinder the ability to compensate thousands of farmers. Members urge the European Parliament and Council to reject the postponement, as ample time has been provided for compliance.
