Côte d'Ivoire - EUDR compliance: SIPH presents its progress to its partners
Around sixty stakeholders in the rubber industry met on Tuesday 02 July in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, at the initiative of SIPH, the SIFCA Group's rubber marketing subsidiary.
The aim of the meeting, organised by Isabelle BILLON, SIPH Project Manager, was to inform all the stakeholders in the sector about the progress of the company's best practices to comply with the EUDR. These include the geolocation of all village plantations under SIPH's control, and the traceability of each batch of rubber produced to ensure that it is harvested from plantations that are managed responsibly and sustainably.
It was also an opportunity for SIPH to respond to its partners' concerns about the EUDR initiative, demonstrating its leadership in sustainable natural rubber.
The European Union's regulation against deforestation (EUDR) is a political initiative created by the European Union to combat deforestation on a global scale. Its official implementation is scheduled for 25 January 2025.
