SIPH at the 60th International Agricultural Show in Paris

Présence de SIPH à la 60è édition du Salon International de lAgriculture à Paris

The SIFCA Group was present at the 60th International Agricultural Show held in Paris from 24 February to 3 March 2024.

Over 9 days, the SIFCA stand, which was attached to the Côte d'Ivoire stand, welcomed around 120,000 visitors who came to discover the world of oil palm and natural rubber.

With a particular focus on the EUDR theme this year, the stand emphasised the importance of the production capacities of the SIFCA Group, and its subsidiary SIPH, for non-polluting products and the preservation of forest and natural resources.

The highlight of the stand was a replica of the Taï forest, one of the last primary forests in Africa, located in the west of Côte d'Ivoire, close to Guinea and Liberia.

Visitors were also able to discover the detailed natural rubber manufacturing process, from the tapping of the rubber tree to the production of the ball, including each stage of cutting the product as it is in the factory.

Next to the rubber section, the palm oil production process was also detailed.

Present at the exhibition, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the SIFCA Group underlined the importance for the Group, a citizen and leader in the natural rubber, palm oil and natural sugar sectors in Africa, of presenting the know-how of its countries at the show.

Promoting compliance with the EUDR (European Union Deforestation Regulation) was discussed in detail by Isabelle Billon, SIPH Project Manager and a panelist on a number of topics at the show. Other topics covered included the structural transformation of agriculture in Côte d'Ivoire, and agroforestry.

Department heads from SIFCA subsidiaries, and SIPH in particular, also took the floor, including Laurence Leberquier, who recalled the investment made by the Group and its subsidiaries in the natural rubber sector in particular, which has been working for a long time on non-deforestation, CSR and traceability.
