Launch of the National operation « 1 day, 5 million trees » in our site of SAPH Bongo
The Integrated Farm Unit of SAPH Bongo hosted the official launch of the "1 day, 5 million trees" operation in the South Comoe region.
Initiated by the Ivorian Government, this project of national interest is part of the five-year agreement signed last June between SIFCA Group and the Ministry of Water and Forests of Côte d'Ivoire, aiming to reconstruct forest cover, preserve biodiversity and contribute to the environmental education of students throughout the Ivorian territory, more specifically in areas where SIFCA subsidiaries are located.
In all, 50,000 trees incubated for months in the nurseries of Bongo Integrated Farm Unit (UFI), which will be planted throughout the South Comoe Region, including on the IFU which plans to enrich a total area of 121 hectares this year.
A large-scale project that will follow the enrichment, with the support of the Regional Directorate of Water and Forests, of the Biodiversity zones of the IFU, in animal and plant species this year; and in the long term to the promotion of environmental education among the communities surrounding the site.
Organized in strict compliance with barrier measures, this ceremony during which Gmelina and Teak essences were symbolically planted, was held in the presence of the prefectural body of Alépé and Alosso, of the Regional Director of Forests of Alépé and the populations of the locality.
